Any Questions?

What is the perfect handlebar width?
Recommended Handlebar Width by Riding Style

Riding Style Suggested Width

Enduro 760–800 mm

Bikepark / Downhill 780–800 mm

Trail / All-Mountain 740–780 mm

Compact Riders 720–760 mm (depending on shoulder width and reach)

What to Keep in Mind

Body Proportions

Shoulder width ≠ bar width. Go with what feels controlled and natural on the bike.

As a rule of thumb: shoulder width + 20–40 mm is a good starting point.

Bike Setup

  • Shorter bars = more agile handling, but less stability at high speed.
  • Wider bars = more control on steep or rough terrain, but more demanding over longer rides.

Cockpit Balance

If you're cutting down your bars, you might want to adjust your stem (length or angle) to keep your position balanced.

Test Before You Cut

Before reaching for the saw: slide your grips and controls inward and get a few rides in.

This gives you a real-world feel for the new width — and helps you decide how much to cut, if any.

Cockpit BalancCutting – The Right Way
  • Always cut equal amounts from both sides.
  • Use a guide tool to keep the cut straight and clean.
  • Don’t forget to deburr the ends
How short can I cut my handlebar?

As short as needed — but no shorter.

Your ideal handlebar width depends on your riding style, body dimensions, and terrain.

Every AERTIME bar comes with cut marks to help you dial in the perfect fit.

You can shorten the bars by up to 50 mm total (25 mm per side).

That gives you:

  • 750 mm width on the DEKADE bar
  • 735 mm width on the JARVIS bar
What type of grips are your handlebars designed for?

Our handlebars are designed to fit 22.2mm inside diameter grips. No mater if you use a single lock ring, double lock ring or regular grips.

Will you re-produce them after they are sold out ?

As the word "Limited Edition" says it all, we will not re-produce this color after they are sold-out.

What exactly is ASTM and what does it stand for ?

The ASTM category (from the American Society for Testing and Materials) tells you what kind of riding a bike component is officially tested and approved for – from smooth roads to full-on downhill abuse.

Why does it matter?
Not every part is built for every trail. The ASTM rating helps you understand how much stress a component can handle – and whether it matches your riding style.
It gives you confidence knowing your gear is made for what you ride.

Category / What it means / Typical use

ASTM 1 / Light riding on paved roads / Urban, commuting

ASTM 2 / Gravel roads, smooth trails / XC, touring

ASTM 3 / Rougher terrain, small drops / Trail, All-Mountain

ASTM 4 / Technical trails, big hits / Enduro

ASTM 5 / Extreme use, jumps, bike park / Freeride, Downhill
